Brainstorming

The first couple of books have been selected and countless hours have been spent combing the internet for possible book club choices. My eyes are crossed and my dreams are full of scrolling titles and bossy vampires. Here's what I have so far:

Real Vampires Get Lucky- Gerry Bartlett (11/3/09)
Darkness Unleashed- Alexandra Ivy (11/3/09)
Immortal- V.K. Forrest (11/24/09)

December:
Once Bitten- Clare Willis (12/1/09)
A Mermaids Ransom- Joey W. Hill (12/1/09)

2010 titles:
Shades of Midnight- Lara Adrian (Jan)
First Drop of Crimson- Jeaniene Frost (Feb)
Her Vampire Husband- Michele Hauf (Apr)*

What titles would you like to see featured as a book club selection?

*Her Vampire Husband by Michele Hauf comes out in April, so we've got that covered.

The titles do not have to be romance. We would like to read a variety of books here at Bite Club! Vote for your favs, and help us pick!

THanks!

I don't really have a suggestions of books but I would like to say if the book is part of a series--let us know. I like to read a series in order :) Thanks!

saycheese- We will definitely let you know if a book selection is part of an existing series. I will say that we want to avoid that if possible, but might consider revisiting the first book in a series if readers choose. For example, I am re-reading the Sookie Stackhouse books and it might be interesting to pick the first book for the club and discuss how the book compares to the show, or how we hope the series continues, what couple we cheer for etc. The possibilities are endless and that's why we want your help choosing!

Susan- I'm looking forward to April too! I really enjoy Michele's books and discussing them will be interesting. What else would you want to read?

Hi Anna. I have a couple of alternate options for the month of November. And since I recently discovered that I like this whole anthology thing I'm going to stick to that motif and suggest:

Must Love Hellhounds
Unbound
By Blood We Live

For December I vote for A Mermaid's Ransom by Joey W. Hill.

First Drop of Crimson is a definite yes!

Are you only picking books that come out that month? If so, you could probably get the authors to participate in this. Interviews or book club questions and such.

One thing is, I'm not a big anthology fan, but if you pick an anthology, maybe pick another book to pair with it that is a novel.

Wow! I've just discovered this Bite Club, and I'm so excited! These books look great.
I'm definitely joining!

Check out my blog - I'm giving away a copy of a vampire book right now!

Britt-
Our only requirement for picking books is that they be vampire books, whether they are romance, urban fantasy, science fiction or mystery. So if you can think of a book that you think others enjoy...let us know. We have stayed with new releases so far because we do want the authors to participate and we wanted to start off with books we might not all have read.

**And you just never know what authors from the Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2 might show up on chat day- Oct 30** wink wink

Drop of Crimson would be a great choice for an urban fantasy title, and I love her other work. Crimson is the first spin off from the Night Huntress world, so it's familiar but not necessarily part of the Cat and Bones series. Awesome!

brizmus- Thanks for stopping by!

Jen D.- Have you read anything by Joey W. Hill? I have not so I am curious about the books. Mermaid's Ransom seemed really interesting. Thanks for the other ideas too! We need as many ideas as we can get:)

Jocelynn Drakes third Dark Days Novel Dawnbreaker just came out yesterday. Its a wonderful series. Very action packed.

Kim Harrison's Black Magic Saction comes out next year. Her books are really interesting.

Karen Chance has a new book coming out the beginning of next year.

LKH has wonderful books as well.

I will keep thinking.

Anna - I haven't read any of Joey's books but I've heard good things.

alicia0605 - I liked the Karen Chance and Jocelynn Drake suggestions. I have both of the first books in their series but haven't had a chance to read them yet. TBR pile be damned.
