A Day for Celebration

I'm going to veer from the book path today because for the first time in almost 2 weeks my kids have gone back to school! Hooray! Yippee! Now don't get me wrong, I love my little monsters and we have a fun time together but cabin fever was starting to set in, big time. See, I live in Virginia and we were part of that back-to-back blizzard, or snowpocalypse as they were calling it, which meant leaving the house was like planning an expedition to hike Mt. Everest.

We did have a lot of fun, especially since this was our first ever winter- created an Olympic sled run in the front yard, baked mountains of cookies, watched numerous movies, read lots of books, colored, painted nails, hiked to the store a few times, etc. etc. All I can say is that it was time, way past time, to head back to school. I'm worn out and need a break. Maybe I should have my own snow days now?

Now I have this dilemma. Nothing serious but something to think about. Should I tackle the backlog of errands, clean like a woman possessed because nobody is home to mess it up, or kick up my heels and relax??

I can sooo relate. After two weeks with my two little monsters, I needed a break. I am still playing catch-up.

Hi Anna!

I'm probably not the most qualified person to answer your question seeing as I didn't have to deal with the snowpocalypse and I don't have kids but, my vote's for kicking your heels up and relaxing.

Jealous, because I live North of Toronto and barely any snow at all. Poor mother nature is very confused this year

I say today is about kicking up your heels with a nice tea/coffee(Spiked, even better) and a book and enjoy the silence - you deserve it
PS new term "snowpocalypse" -- I love it!!!!!

Relaxing as we speak! I opted for the quiet day and will run errands tomorrow. I just needed peace for a few hours:)
