Over the last few days I finally managed to make a dent, albeit a small one, in Mt. TBR! Don't ask me how I did it because things have been super crazy around my house with the beginning of summer vacation (Parental Punishment), company coming for an extended stay, preparing for a girlie birthday celebration, more company coming over the 4th of July weekend, insanely hot temperatures, the World Cup and planning for our next move. Whew, I'm tired all over again!
Here's what I read:
*Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
Another excellent Southern Vampires book- can't wait for our chat days on July 5th and 6th.
*Risk No Secrets by Cindy Gerard
I super loved this book! Wyatt and Sophie almost broke my heart into a million pieces. If you like romantic suspense, military or former military heroes, strong heroines, intelligent and complex storytelling then the Black Ops series is a must!
*Night Myst by Yasmine Galenorn
This is our July title and doesn't come out until next week. I will be posting my review of this book over at VampChix next month so I will remain mum...except to say that I really enjoyed my first look at the Indigo Court and you should buy this book.
And here's my tribute in pictures to Team USA! Today is our match against Ghana...check it out.
What are you reading this week? How many of you are ready to discuss Dead in the Family? Any exciting plans for this weekend? Are you going to watch any of the World Cup?

Hi Anna! Good luck with your hectic summer schedule. I feel for ya.
What I've managed to read:
-Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
-Almost done with The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter
-Still waiting for the library to tell me they have a copy of DITF waiting for me. Although at this point I may have to go steal er, I mean borrow it from someone I know.
Next books in line (I think):
Except the Queen by Jane Yolen and Midori Snyder
Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas (maybe)
Go Team USA!! What an amazing game against Algeria.
Alas, not a sports fans, so the TV has been off most of the week.
I started The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and have been yelling at the book because it's been pretty tedious to get through. But last night, at the halfway mark Things Started Happening. Whew! Glad I stuck it out that long. Now, it's getting interesting.
I'm in the mood for a Gena Showalter book, so will dig one of those out of my TBR pile to start next.
My TBR pile is like 40 books...and I can't seem to get it down. I'm finishing up
Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles
next will by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
@Michele: I've had TGWTDT in my TBR for a while now. I've heard some good stuff about it. Let me know if you end up enjoying the rest of it. TDN is the first book I've read by Ms. Showalter. I can honestly say I'm liking how she wrote the shower scene I just read. ;)
@Rain Maiden: How are you liking Rules of Attraction?
I'm so glad I stopped by...feeling blue about Team USA but I seem to have discovered a new author. Who is this Simone Elkeles? What kind of books?
Yesterday was sad for our boys on the soccer field. I'd volunteer my shoulder for them to cry on.
Simone Elkeles is a Young Adult author. I think she mostly writes contemporary teen drama and comedy.
Here's her site:
