Special guest Lucy Weston and giveaway

The Secret History of Elizabeth Tudor, Vampire Slayer as told to Lucy Weston

I write in haste, hunted as I am by both British Intelligence and the vampire Kindred. Each is determined to prevent the truth about the role of vampires in human affairs from becoming known. But some truths are too powerful to be silenced. They will find a way to be heard despite the greatest odds.

When I learned of the existence of secret journals written in her own hand by Elizabeth Tudor, Queen
Elizabeth I, detailing her experiences as a vampire slayer and her relationship with the vampire king,
Mordred, I knew that I would never find better evidence to convince humans of the peril they face.

Since my own transformation into a vampire more than a century ago by Mordred himself, I have sought vengeance for my lost humanity. But now, heeding the voice of a queen wise beyond her years, I can only hope that the revelation of the true role vampires have played in human affairs will lead to a new, better accord between humans and vampires alike.

My thanks to Lucy for risking herself to warn us of this threat and for writing this book. I've finished the book and my review will be posted soon, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing look at Elizabeth's England.

I have 3 copies of The Secret History of Elizabeth Tudor, Vampire Slayer to give away to 3 lucky people and this contest is easy-peasy... just tell me what historical figure you'd like to see mixed up with the paranormal and I will toss your name in my magic hat. Please leave me an email if one is not included in your profile. This contest will end on January 18th and I will announce the winners the following weekend.

I've been thinking lately that an amusing switch up of history (or at least legend) would be to have Saint Patrick arrive in Ireland and deal with a plague of demons, undead, or other minions of evil insted of snakes.

But an Egyptian Pharoah would be interesting, too. Queen Hatchepsut was pretty much erased from history by following pharoahs, and perhaps there was a paranormal reason? Hmmm....

I think writtenwyrdd is right on with the egyptian pharoah idea. There whole culture seems so perfect for a vampire story.

I would like to see Cleopatra as a vampire. That could be why shes so beautiful and men cant resist her.

I would like to read a paranormal with Paul Revere. He was a silver-smith and the midnight messenger. I could see Mr. Revere slayin evil on horse-back.

I have been an amateur history nut for as long as I can remember. When it came down to assembling a cast for my own Vampire PNR series, I could not decide on a set historical figure or time period. There are just too many great era's and people from which to choose! So...I created a Coven consisting of all of the most interesting (to me) historical figures I wanted to explore. Too much fun! And an excuse to research constantly.

Thanks for the giveaway, Anna. I have added this one to my TBR list for sure!

I could see Ivan the Terrible as a vampire.

Joan of Arc would be a great historical figure to slay vampires or werewolves. Werewolves would be a definite fit.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Oh what a great giveaway. I've been waiting for this to come out. I think with my love of Highland romances with a paranormal twist, I would have to choose Robert the Bruce or William Wallace.
Thanks for this contest.

Captian Christopher Jones, from the Mayflower. I think putting a vampire or two there, or making the final leg of the journey and landing have a paranormal twist would be excellent.

How about Lord Byron or Cleopatra.
This book sounds good.

I've always loved to read about Elizabeth I, so I think this would probably be my favorite historical figure - but I'll pick Elizabeth II, that might be fun.

This was tough for me, for I love history. I want to thank you for this great contest.
I loved to special periods in history. Of course I loved the Tudor period. I could see Queen Katharine, Henry's first wife being a vampire. Maybe if she was one she could have stopped Anne Boelin.
My other was Marie Antoinette, I could see her running around her little village bespelling her lovers with her beauty and magical charm from being a Vampiress.
