Review: Over my Dead Body by Michele Bardsley

Book Description:
Moving into Broken Heart seemed like the perfect transition for Simone Sweet and her young daughter, Glory. With her ex-husband gone after attempting to murder Simone, and Glory being mute since the incident, it is one place where she can feel safe, and almost forget she's a ravenous vampire...

No one is without secrets, but Simone's are big. She'd hate to have them interfere with what's developing with local hunk Braddock Hayes. When not turning her legs to jelly, he's building an Invisi-shield around Broken Heart and helping Glory speak again. But when Simone's past resurfaces, it threatens to ruin her second chance...
Review (spoiler-ish):
What happens when you move to a small town to get away from an abusive dead ex husband? Or you get turned into a vampire, and then you start to have feelings for a non vampire man?  Well, you'd have Simone’s life!
Simone lives with her blind, aging Grandmother and daughter in Broken Heart, Oklahoma. Most of the residents are vampires or other paranormal beings, with a few humans to balance out the scales. Simone begins to have feelings for Braddock Hayes, a human, only the timing sucks, because people end up missing, and Simone starts to feel very strange feelings around her.
She accidentally bites her love one night and is poisoned, and Braddock has to explain that his past is not what it seems. They share a connection that's bigger than they think, even if he is not a vampire. When her supposed dead ex makes an appearance and starts demanding things...well, what's a vampire to do?
Great summer beach read for any drama and vampire loving enthusiast.  This book is filled with soap opera-like entertainment.
