Format for our first book club meeting

Okay, tomorrow starts our first Bite Club meeting!! Since we don't have a dedicated chat room for our meeting the format might be different than you are used to. What I will do is schedule a few different posts for each day and folks can comment to whichever post they choose. Each day of the chat I will post a few different discussion questions about various stories in the book. Comments can be as long as you like and about anything you like, well...mostly. Let's try to keep the conversation about the book. I have arranged it so that my cell is alerted to each comment which allows me to respond in a timely fashion. That should help keep the "talk" move along more like a real conversation. Several authors have said they'll stop by for some random conversation and as with traditional party there might be gifts*hint*hint*

Just a quick reminder that the Bite Club meets for our first official book club meeting beginning October 30th and the party winds down on November 1st! So grab your spookiest and yummiest treats and let's talk about the vampire stories we love.

Rk- I'm glad your coming by! The conversation should be interesting:)

ev- No, thank you for having us. I stopped in and read comments but I have the flu so I didn't leave one myself. The cell phone notices just happened so I have no idea how I did it, but it is handy.

SciFiGuy- Ah, come on, please bring the bells:)

Me too! And you so have to find the recipe for that orange and black drink! What is that?

I found this at Martha Stewart's site- after all, she is the queen of parties and her Halloween stuff is to die for:)

Screwed-Up Screwdriver
Serves 1
1/4 cup ice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed tangerine juice
1 1/2 ounces black vodka
1 black licorice twist, for serving

Place ice in a tall glass. Pour juice into glass. Pour vodka over the back of a cocktail spoon into glass so it sits on top of juice and creates a layer of black. Slice 1/4 inch off each end of licorice, and use as a straw. Serve immediately.

Thanks for the recipe, Anna!

I've never heard of black vodka, but now I want to go in search just for the novelty of it! ;-)

Cool Halloween recipe from Martha!

I have heard of black vodka, and have plans for it. MWHAAAA!!! My Delilah Street urban fantasy series features Vegas darkside cocktails invented by her that now match the titles. . .

Here's the link for the latest, the Vampire Sunrise.

Sorry it's just a link. My website is going to have a major redo in the next month, so I'll have the Albino Vampire (from Dancing with Werewolves) and Brimstone kiss recipes on that as well, with the Silver Zombie to come.

Happy Halloween!

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking of having a recipe and drink post in December. Gather up all the best and coolest recipes for all our minions to share. All vamp themed, of course.
