I'd like to take a moment to thank Jeaniene Frost for participating in our monthly book club. I really enjoyed reading Spade and Denise's story and look forward to future Night Huntress spin-offs. Thank you and huge hugs!
1. In the Q&A you mentioned that music is an inspiration for you and that you create a playlist for each book. What was your playlist for FDOC?
2. Did you intentionally set out to make FDOC more romantic than the other Night Huntress books or did the characters dictate that as you went along?
3. Who would you want cast as Spade and Denise? Who do you see playing Ian?

Hi Anna, thanks so much again for having First Drop on Bite Club!. Re- a playlist for First Drop of Crimson: I had The Fray's new cd on repeat while writing it (favorites were YOU FOUND ME plus SAY WHEN) as well as a few songs by Sarah McLachlan (PERFECT GIRL and ELSEWHERE always made me think of Denise), and for the climax of the book, WHAT I'VE DONE by Linkin Park.

I knew from the start that it was going to be a more romantic book because I only had one novel to showcase Spade and Denise's story versus several books like with Cat and Bones. So their relationship was always going to take more of a center stage. Then while writing, certain scenes developed organically that really deepened their connection.

For Spade, this model really hits the nail on the head: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v351/Kailyn/Models/Christopher%20Douglas/
For Denise, I see her as a cross between Kate Beckensale and Natalie Portman. Ian...haven't really come across someone who personifies him for me. If Alexander Skarsgard had red hair, he might make a good Ian, though.
Went by the link for an image of Spade and all I can say is...WOW! Its kinda scary that the guy looks exactly how I would envision. The research on that had to be fun:)
