Side read project #1: Lover Mine by J.R. Ward

In the darkest corners of the night in Caldwell, New York, a conflict like no other rages. Long divided as a terrifying battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the city is home to a band of brothers born to defend their race: the warrior vampires of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was- or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war, he will need to call up on both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate.

Xhex, a symphath assassin, has long steeled herself against the attraction between her and John Matthew. Having already lost one lover to madness, she will not allow the male of worth to fall prey to the darkness of her twisted life. When fate intervenes, however, the two discover that love, like destiny, is inevitable between soul mates.

*I don't know about you but I have been very patient while I wait for Lover Mine to be released and I guarantee that by the time this posts I will have the book in hand! This is my first selection for the SRP (side read project) and Lover Mine was chosen because it is part of a truly fantastic series. The characters in the BDB have such depth of emotion and each book takes me on a roller coaster ride, where nothing is ever predictable! I've been known to laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time, but with each book I fall more in love with the Brotherhood and crave more. Tomorrow I will showcase the other books in the series and talk about my favorite book and couple- if I can stop reading long enough!

I agree with everything you said about BDB. Lover Mine definitely has the roller coaster...I couldn't put it down

I'm about halfway through Lover Mine and it just blows my mind. Each book is my new favorite but John is the most developed character so far and I hope he gets the ending he deserves. I'm also going crazy trying to figure out the Quinn/Blay relationship!

I think it is my favorite so far...but then I say that after every one, lol. There is a lot to digest so I will need to read again before the Warden's chat.
