Haven't read Moon Kissed yet so I don't have a casting suggestion for Severo.
As far as Alphas go I hate that they're stubborn, sometimes bossy and scary when they're mad but, I love that they're protective, loyal and total bad asses when they're taking care of business.
I always enjoy watching the Alpha deal with his Pack's needs, especially when he has to put them above his own. Adds nice layers of conflict to a story.
Pack dynamics are great for demonstrating the multiple facets of an Alpha personality. You get a chance to see how they react to all types of situations, good and bad, but it is often necessary to look past the image to see the real man. I love the conflict that a properly written Alpha can bring to a story. They are so much more than chest pounding hulks.
