Weres on Wednesday
This week I thought I'd pay homage to one of my favorite movies- The 1981 classic An American Werewolf in London. This movie helped revolutionize the special effects industry and I remember being scared to death watching it for the first time. Now I just think it's funny.
Here are some of my favorite lines from the movie:
Jack: Have you tried talking to a corpse? It's boring.
[trying to get arrested in Trafalgar Square]
David: Queen Elizabeth is a man! Prince Charles is a faggot! Winston Churchill was full of shit! Shakespeare's French!
[Appearing for the first time as the undead]
Jack: Can I have a piece of toast?
Jack: David, you are hurting my feelings!
David: Hurting your feelings? Has it occurred to you that it might be unsettling to see you arise from the grave to visit me?
What about you? Love it or hate it? Any favorite lines?

I don't think I've ever seen AAWIL. I've heard of it and may have seen snippets of it but, I haven't seen it in it's entirety. Or maybe I have and I just don't remember.
I'll add it to my Netflix queue and check it out.
This movie gave me NIGHTMARES. It was seriously one of the first horror movies I ever saw, and I think it ruined me for the horror genre. To look back at it now the special effects were cheesy, but it worked at the time. It's the reason I avoided writing about werewolves for so long. Ha!
And I always remember the main hero as the Dr. Pepper guy. Remember that? "I drink Dr. Pepper...da, da, da" However that went. :-)
Jen- It's definitely worth checking out. It scared me silly when I was a kid but like Michele said, now it looks pretty cheesy.
Michele- I'm sure glad you decided to write werewolves!
I don't think I've ever seen it...
This is one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasure flicks! It was the first time that a horror movie mixed with this delicious humor and FAB soundtrack.
