ROUND 1: ELENA VS. SOOKIE
Welcome ladies and gents to Round 1 of The Vampire Diaries vs. True Blood Smackdown. After careful deliberation we’ve come up with the characters strengths and weaknesses. We need your help to decide who would come out the winner in a head to head battle. In the blue corner we have Elena Gilbert and in the red corner we have Sookie Stackhouse. Jen D.: I hate to say it Betty but, I think this is going to be a land slide victory for Ms. Stackhouse. I don’t think Elena is incapable of taking care of business but, I don’t think she stands a chance against Sookie. I mean she did hold her own against that crazy ass Debbie Pelt. So it was only a step above women’s mud wrestling but, still…she was able to open up a can on that lunatic.
Betty: Jen, I have to admit that I had a hard time with this one. To me, Elena is still developing who she is. In the past couple of episodes, she’s grown a backbone and stood up to Damon and Elijah (the really old possibly crazy “original”). She even came to blows with Damon, which honestly I’d be scared to do. Sometimes to me Sookie is excessively dependent on men to save her. Only recently, did she stand up and take care of her business with Debbie and Russell. This is only the second season and Elena is standing up and sacrificing herself for her loved ones. I’m really interested to see what our readers think.
We’re going to leave it in your capable hands Bite Clubbers. What other strengths or weakness to you think these ladies possess that could help or hurt them? Leave your vote for who you think would win in a head to head battle between Elena and Sookie.

I vote for Sookie in the Smackdown. When Elena gives one of those dark broody looks and long silent pauses Sookie goes in for the kill, maybe she is packing her bro's sawed off behind her back or some chains in her pocket. You never know with the Sook.

This is a tough one. They both are courageous when it comes to standing up to vampires (including hitting them when necessary). Still love the scene when Sookie slaps Eric. If I had to pick, I think I am going with Sookie. What a fun blog post!

I've been back and forth on this all day and I think that Sookie is a tougher, stronger woman because she faces way more violence in her world. The True Blood vamps are not exactly warm and cozy...incredibly sexy, yes, but cuddly, not so much.
I like that Sookie speaks her mind and I like that she tries to enjoy the little things.
I haven't read the Vampire Diaries books yet but I have managed to catch a few episodes of the show and Elena does seem like she could hold her own, but I think her vampires will always be there to get her out of trouble. And she doesn't have any supernatural powers to help her out.
So I vote Sookie.
My vote is for ELENA. HA! She may be plain but that is what makes her better than Sookie. Elena would put a Smackdown on the True Blood Chix anyday.
sookie will win a fight with elena but katherine will beat the bloody pants off sookie !
