The Embrace of Life and Death Contest and promo with Liz Strange

We've never really explored the M/M erotica angle here at Bite Club, primarily because I haven't come across many that have a decent paranormal theme, and secondly because I'm not sure I've read any. Of course, we all know and love the BDB and are anxiously awaiting the Quinn/Blay relationship to reach that next level, but that's the extent of my knowledge. But when author, and previous blog guest, Liz Strange emailed with her current book information I was happy to pass on the news, as well as play host for a contest. Liz is offering one reader a copy of The Embrace of Life and Death, A Dark Kiss Tale, and all you need to do is leave a meaningful comment. I will leave the contest open until 7/27 and will announce the winners the following weekend.

Book Description:

Kieran is a hundred-and-twenty-year-old immortal, originally hailing from the harsh, famine-stricken life of 1880s Ireland. He has surpassed death and thrived, gaining wealth, power and knowledge. Azrael is the angel of death, but his mission is far from ominous. He is the protector of the grief-stricken, and the champion of lost souls. The two are polar opposites in mission and nature, yet are inexplicably drawn to one another.

The Supreme One sees all, and when he discovers the truth about the relationship he is enraged. Their commitment to be together must be stronger than his determination to keep them apart.

There are tons of paranormal romances (and/or erotica) out there, both gay and straight. The question is, whether many of them are any good! Well, I suppose that's just what a site like this is for, to help separate the wheat from the chaff.

"The Embrace of Life and Death" does look like something I'd be interested in trying, though; I'll add it to my list.

This sounds pretty good! Being a gay man, a gay fantasy & gay romance reader it will be a buy.

I'm glad that the responses, so far, have been so positive. With so many books on the market, many of which are self pubbed, it has become more difficult to determine what is actually worth reading. I try to research before accepting new review titles and honestly try to choose what appeals to both myself, and to my blog readers.

And I wholeheartedly agree with Alicia: true love doesn't know boundaries.

I've read only a few M/M books. They have to be written in a certain way for me to continue reading it because it is such a new genre to me. The books that I've read fully through were quite enjoyable.

Interesting premise; I'd like to read this one. Based on the excerpt alone both characters are appealing. I've been reading vampires for a quite a while, but have yet to get into angels, fallen or otherwise. I'm curious what it is that the Supreme One finds objectionable in their relationship- whether it's the cross-species issue or the gender situation. Or both!
