The Vampire Diaries S3 ~ Disturbing Behavior~

Welcome to another episode of The Vampire Diaries! This is building up to be an action packed season!

The episode starts with Elena and Damon in the kitchen cooking chili for the town’s gathering. They sparks are flying all around the kitchen and Alaric doesn’t like what he walks in on.

In Chicago… Rebekah clothes shopping. The funniest thing she said the whole night was “Women today dress like sluts.” In return, Stefan looks at Klaus and says “You’re the one who pulled the dagger out of her.”

Katherine is up to her old tricks again. She tells Stefan she knows Klaus is after the necklace that he gave to Elena and that whatever he’s planning won’t work. He’s not the diabolic type. I have to say I agree.

Jeremy is still seeing ghosts. He actually interacts with Anna and she tells him that for him to see her, he has to want to see her too. It’s a push and pull kind of thing. She warns him that there is darkness.

Caroline surprises Elena with Bonnie. She’ back after some down time with the ‘non-witchy’ side of her family. Bonnie jokes that she leaves town for the summer and everything goes to hell. Well pretty much.

Gloria uses Rebekah and a spell to find the necklace and she tells Klaus that she can’t put a bead on where it’s at. She needs a break. Stefan encourages Rebekah and Klaus to leave Gloria alone and they can go ‘eat.’ He’s hungry.

Sheriff Forbes gets Damon to try compel Bill to forget that Caroline is a vampire.

Caroline and Bonnie are talking with Elena about Damon and Stefan when Elena’s necklace burns her. Bonnie holds it and sparks shoot from it.

Stefan turns up back at Gloria’s after eating and she tells him that she knows he’s not all with Klaus. She tells him she knows about a ‘group of girls that were discussing’ him. That she knows that Klaus didn’t kill the doppelganger. Stefan won’t reveal the truth about Elena and Gloria incapacitates him. She uses vervain to make him hurt and is gleaning the truth from him. Katherine shows up and saves him.

Bonnie does a spell on the necklaces and reveals that it has it’s own magic.

Alaric warns Damon away from Elena.

Bonnie and Jeremy are looking for information on Elena’s necklace when Anna shows up and their books catch on fire. Anna tells Jeremy to be careful of Vicki—he tells her that she can’t be around while Bonnie is around. He shuts her out of his mind and she disappears.

The council holds a meeting and Bill shows up—apparently compulsion doesn’t work on him. Caroline takes off.

Jeremy tells Bonnie the truth about seeing dead folks.

Caroline and Tyler are interrupted by Elena mid-make out session. She needs Caroline.

Caroline comes in and saves her dad—Bill from Damon trying to kill him. She kicks Damon’s ass. Damon takes his frustration at Bill out on Alaric and Elena. Angry that Alaric tells him to calm down and Damon snaps Alaric’s neck. Damon tells that Elena he's not Stefan.

After getting rid of Gloria’s body after Katherine killed her. Stefan talks to Rebekah about the past. He wants to know who they were running from. Klaus wouldn’t be afraid of anyone. Rebekah kisses him and realizes that he’s not with them. Klaus shows up and Rebekah tells him that Stefan isn’t with them. Klaus knocks Stefan out.

Alaric is pissed that Damon killed him. Alaric tells Damon that realized he was a dick.

Caroline tells Elena she needs to face the truth, that Damon has gotten under her skin. Elena almost cries and asks Caroline what does that say about her. Caroline tells her she’s human.

Bill decides that he’s going home before he gets killed. Caroline tells him that she’ll be okay. He tells her because she’s a vampire, she’ll never be okay again.

Alaric tells the council that he should be in charge. Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood have both been compromised. He’s human.

Bonnie tells Elena that Jeremy is seeing ghosts. She gives Elena the necklace back, but it wasn’t Elena—it was Katherine. Katherine takes off with Elena’s necklace.

Katherine shows up at Damon’s. Let’s leave. Let’s go somewhere. Let’s create havoc. Unfortunately Damon is up for a little trip since Elena and Alaric doesn’t seem to understand him.

Stefan wakes up and Klaus reveals they are in Mystic Falls.

So what did you guys think? How much trouble is Katerine and Damon going to get into? Will Elena ever admit she loves Damon at least a little?

The Vampire Diaries ~ The Sun Also Rises~

**Spoiler Alert**

This episode was heartbreaking. It was a ton of action and a lot of dead bodies left behind.

Caroline and Matt are left to fend off Tyler the werewolf. Matt shoots Tyler and they escape into the Lockwood house. He lets is slip that he’s aware of what she and Tyler are and that he mom knows. He also tells her that her mom has always hated vampires. He tells her that he can’t deal with what she is and breaks up with her. They hear something thump onto the front porch and Caroline goes out and covers up a naked Tyler. She brings Tyler in and cares for him.

Tyler wakes up and Caroline tells him that he got shot but he’s healing. She blurts out that Matt broke up with her again and she starts to cry. He pulls her in close, under his blanket and just holds her. He thanks her for taking care of him.

Jenna, Jules, and Elena are trapped in three rings of fire while Greta is mumbling spells by the firelight. Klaus asks for reassurance this is going to work and she says that it would. He grabs Jules and slams his fist into her chest ripping out her heart. Greta uses the blood from Jules in her spell.

Meanwhile John, Bonnie, and Jeremy are searching through old spell books and journals trying to find a way for Elena to not become a vampire. John finds a spell that will send Elena’s soul through his body and back into hers so she’s not a vampire. Jeremy asks him if he knows what this will do to him and he tells Jeremy he’s aware. He writes Elena a letter and leaves his ring with Jeremy.

Stefan goes to offer himself in place of Jenna, but Klaus refuses but tells Stefan that he has plans for him. Klaus stabs Stefan.

Bonnie is preparing to go and fight Klaus and she makes Jeremy pass out and locks Alaric in the house so they’re safe. She and Damon head off to confront Klaus.

Elena is quickly talking Jenna through her powers and that she can turn her emotions off so she won’t feel fear and that she can run really fast. Jenna tells her that she knows what she has to do. When Greta lowers the fire ring Jenna attacks her sinking her teeth into neck. Klaus catches her and slams her to the ground. She looks at Elena and Elena tells her to turn off her emotions. Jenna looks up at Klaus before he stabs a stake through her heart.

Klaus tells Elena it’s her turn. She tells him to go to hell. He bites into her neck and drains blood from her as Stefan helplessly watches. Klaus lets her body drop as the change starts to overtake him. Greta realizes that something is overpowering her spell.

Bonnie steps out of the woods and wind and fire swirl around. Damon appears behind Greta, grabbing her and snapping her neck. Bonnie stops Klaus from transforming and Elijah appears over him. Elijah overpowers Klaus but Klaus tells him that he didn’t scatter Elijah’s family. That if Elijah kills him then he will never find his family. Elijah says that he’s sorry and Bonnie tells him that she’ll kill them both that she doesn’t care about dying. Elijah grabs Klaus and takes off with him.

Stefan tells Damon to get Elena out of there, so Damon takes her home. He whispers that she has to wake up normal. She wakes up and gasps for breath. He asks her how she feels and she tells him like herself. John who has walked outside drops dead in the front yard.

Damon tells Alaric that Jenna was killed.

Elena along with all of her friends, lay to rest Jenna and John. Elena and Alaric place roses on Jenna’s grave.

Stefan tells Damon that Elena can’t lose anymore of the people she loves. Damon tells him that she may not have a choice. He shows Stefan his bite that Tyler caused. Stefan vows to find a cure, but Damon makes him promise to not tell Elena.

So what did you guys think?

The body count was really high for just one episode... John, Greta, Jenna, Jules, and Elena--She sort of counts!

I think this was an outstanding lead up to a season finale. Damon's a huge player in this show... are they going to kill him off? If so are you going to keep watching?

I have to admit I'm committed to the show because I've become enthralled with several different characters... Caroline and Tyler are amazing together. I LOVE this story line. But I also love Damon's character.... even in the books he was my favorite... can I do without him? I guess we'll see.

Stay tuned for next week's season finale!!

The Vampire Diaries ~ Klaus ~

This post includes spoilers so if you haven't seen "Klaus" then you definitely want to stop reading here! Please forgive me if some of the conversations are out of order, this episode revealed a HUGE amount of information and history and I tried to get it right. Thanks!

This episode was full of flashbacks and revelations. It starts right back up where we left off with Elena sitting for Elijah to wake up. He jolts awake and thinks that Elena is Katherine, which causes a flashback to England 1492 when Trevor delivers Katerina to Elijah and they first meet. Elijah introduces her to Klaus.

Stefan finally wakes up realizes that something is wrong. He realizes that Elena has revived Elijah. The house, now in Elena’s name, ejects Elijah and wont’ let him enter, but Elena shows him that she could be trusted by giving him the dagger and going with him.

Stefan wakes FINALLY wakes up and realizes something is wrong, he discovers that Elijah’s body is gone and that Elena is gone with him. Damon is very angry that Elena chose to do this on her own and he blames Stefan.

Alaric/Klaus explains to Katherine that he’s killed Bonnie and he has the moonstone so he’s ready to break the curse. He tells Katherine that she fled England before he could give her the details, but he found her birthplace and slaughtered her family so now ‘they’re cool.’ He also hopes that Elena isn’t as stupid as Katherine was.

Elena spends the day with Elijah telling him that they have to work together to kill Klaus. Stefan keeps calling her and she tells him that Elijah is a noble and honorable man and that he shouldn’t let Damon do anything ‘stupid.’ Elena hands over her phone to Elijah and they shake hands.

Stefan tells Damon to back off and let Elena do what she thinks is best and she tells Stefan that ‘she’s lost it.” The boys get aggressive and Stefan tells him to back off.

Elena fills Elijah in on the current situation that Klaus is here and has taken over Alaric’s body. He says that it’s one of Klaus’s favorite tricks. Elena tells him that the Martin witches are no longer alive and that Klaus took Katherine and that she may be dead. He smirks to himself and tells Elena that he doubts that.

Elijah and Elena show up at the Lockwood mansion and compels the Mayor to let him in and get him clothes. He reveals that he made sure several people in the town off vervain before his ‘death.’ Using flashbacks he reveals that Klaus is his brother and that the ‘originals’ are in fact an actual family of originals. Elena stares at him in shock and tells her that “the phrase you’re looking for is OMG.”

Alaric/Klaus showed at Jenna’s and proceeds to tell Jenna about vampires in front of Stefan and Stefan attacks Klaus and because he’s in a human body Stefan incapacitates him and tells Jenna to run, but not before Jenna gets to see Stefan’s vampy face.

Elijah hands over the phone that Elena gave him and told her it was ringing incessantly. Stefan tells Elena that Klaus confronted Jenna and she knows all about vampires and that she’s at the Salvatore house. Elena tells Elijah that she has to go but she’ll be back and promises to come back.

Katherine finds Alaric’s alcohol stash and dances around the apartment to loud music. Damon and Andie find her and Damon brings her verain so that Klaus can’t compel her anymore.

Elena and Jenna have the talk that Elena was trying to save her and spare her the worry and Jenna tells Elena that it was her job to protect her and Jeremy. Jenna is angry that almost everyone knows about vampires except her. Elena tells Stefan that she has to go back to Elijah and that she’s safe. Damon gets all growly and tells her that she can’t go. Stefan tells him to step off and let her leave. Damon says that they just got her back and that’s the second time that Stefan has stood in his way—don’t let it be a third.

Elijah is surprised that Elena came back and he tells Elena that nothing can kill the originals but that every creature has a weakness. He also reveals that the Sun and Moon curse was faked by Klaus so he could have both sides of this ‘war’ hunting the moonstone and the doppelganger. He tells Elena that a curse was placed on Klaus a thousand years ago and she’s the key to breaking it. He flashes back to England and it’s foreshadowed that he had a soft spot for Katerina when they chat about love. Elijah reveals that Katerina took things into her own hands when she ran, even though he had gone to the witches and found a way to keep the doppelganger from dying. But Klaus didn’t care if she died, that she was just a means to an end. Klaus told Elijah that “we do not feel and we do not care.” Elijah responds that “we did once” and Klaus replies that ‘it was too many lifetimes ago to matter.”

Katherine is dancing drunk again and Klaus/Alaric gets home and he tells her to sit down and be quiet. She sits and is quiet so he will think she’s compelled. A new group arrives at Alaric’s apartment including Greta who doesn’t seem to be being held against her will. While Klaus complains they took so long, she makes a joke that he had a lot of luggage and a man drags in a huge trunk.

Elena demands to know the ‘real’ curse. He tells her that Klaus is only his half brother. That his mother had an indiscretion with a werewolf male and that Klaus was the end result. Elijah’s father tracked down the male and his family and slaughtered them, thus starting the war between the species. Elena is shocked when she realizes that Klaus is not only vampire, but werewolf too. Elijah tells her the witches cursed him so that his werewolf side was dormant and only his vampire side was active. Klaus wants to break the curse so that he may change into a werewolf and create his own type of hybrid vampires—an army that no one could kill. But at the time of the sacrifice, Klaus would shift and in the middle of the shift is when he would be weakest and could be killed.

Greta and the newcomers set up a ritual while Katherine looks on. Alaric’s body collapses on the floor and Klaus—now in his own (fine) body—says ‘Now that’s more like it.”

Damon and Stefan get into a fight over Elena and Stefan says “let me thank you for being in love with my girlfriend because that means you’ll protect her.” Damon and Stefan get into a physical altercation dn Elena and Elijah walk in on it. She yells at them to stop it and that Elijah is here to help them. He promises to not kill them if only they will apologize. Stefan apologizes for his part in Elijah’s death. Damon tells them all of go to hell. Elena tells Elijah that Damon will come around and he says “perhaps.”

Andie doesn’t’ leave the house although Damon tells her too and causes Damon to attack her and bite her. He yells at her to leave before he kills her.

************

So what did you guys think of this episode. Exactly how many times did you say or think "OMG no way??"

Also I'm curious as to the coincidences between Elijah and Klaus being brothers--one caring about Katerina and the other just wanting her for his own purposes and then Stefan and Damon--both love Elena but one is the 'good guy' and the other is the 'bad boy'. I guess this is more of history repeating itself over and over.

I would also love it if you shared your favorite quotes of this episode. There was some great one-liners in this episode.

Being Human

I just finished watching the first season of BBC's Being Human.  I know, I'm behind the times.  The show is currently heading into it's third season.  Yay!  This is an awesome show with an amazing ensemble cast. It combines drama and the supernatural with a perfect dash of wacky humor, and there wasn't an episode that was not excellent.  The first season is only six episodes, but it's worth the price, no matter if you find it on DVD (Amazon around $20) or a streaming service like Amazon's Video On Demand ($9.99 for season 1 right now).

The show features a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost living together in Bristol, in an attempt to 'be human' by keeping their darker natures separate from the side they show the public.

Annie (Lenora Crichlow), the ghost, isn't quite sure why she hasn't gone 'beyond' yet, so wants to solve that.  She's a free-spirit, always happy and eager to please.  She doesn't need to eat, but making tea makes her feel normal, so there's always a clutter of teacups about the house.  She's someone you'd love to have as your next-door neighbor, but you wouldn't be able to see her because she's a ghost.  Her growth over the six episodes is remarkable and she learns both good and bad things about her death and its meaning.  You'll be rooting for her, I promise.

George (Russell Tovey), the werewolf.  What can I say about sweet, lovable, goofy George? He's not what you'd expect a werewolf to be, and that's great.  The whole show turns the paranormal stereotypes on their heads.  George is very firm about keeping his werewolf nature away from his 'human' life and only has to deal with that during the full moon.  Yet, he's fearful in reaching out to humans, and when love comes to him, he is reluctant.  He is the comic relief on the show, and has incredible comic timing.  Heck, the whole cast works marvelously with one another.  You'd think this show was in its third or fourth year for the actors really have a handle on their characters.  One of the things I adore is the gnome wallpaper in George's bedroom (you can see in the pic at left).  It was obviously there when he moved in, but, oddly, it fits him to a T.

Finally, there is Mitchell, the vampire who is about 150 years old.  He's stopped drinking blood in his efforts to be as human as possible.  You can see that he genuinely craves the companionship and affections that humans offer, yet he struggles (as you would expect from any vampire).  Aidan Turner, who plays him, has laidback charisma and charm and just like George, he embodies his character and you can't resist loving him from the start.  The fact he's gorgeous doesn't hurt a bit.  But over the very short story arc he manages to grow a lot as the others do.  He faces his dark cravings, and whether or not he succumbs I'll leave for you to find out when you watch the show.

The BBC site for the show is here, and you can watch clips and video (yes, even here in the US!).  The Wikipedia page is pretty awesome.

The SyFy version of Being Human premieres Monday night.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.  I don't get the channel, so can't watch it, but I'm so in love with the original I really don't want anyone to try and remake it.  Though advance word on the SyFy version has been good.  You all will have to report in if you see the new show and let us know what you think.  Do we need two versions of this show?  Can they capture the magic of the BBC version?
