Friday 56

  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
  • Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
  • Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
I'm in the middle of moving and my books are all packed up, even the big rolling crate full of books that I convinced my husband that I could not live without and therefore had to take with me during the car trip across the country. Yes, I am spoiled. Yes, I needed to travel with my TBR pile. Yes, that is terrible.

This weeks Friday 56 post comes from the book my son (age 10) is reading, The Best Bad Luck I Ever Had by Kristin Levine. If you haven't read this book then you are definitely missing out. We had the opportunity to meet this author at a school function and she was incredibly nice to all the students, patiently answering questions and signing books. She has written a book that captures your attention and imagination, regardless of age. I highly recommend this book.

And now for my Friday 56 selection:

We hadn't been digging long when Emma gasped.

*Now...aren't you curious to see what Emma was digging for and why it startled her? If you've read this book I'd love to hear what you thought.
