Plinky Question of the Day

The Plinky Question of the Day is a weekly feature hosted by Not Now...I'm Reading! These getting to know you questions will sometimes deal with books or reading but, most of the time they won’t. Because, let’s face it, there’s more to us than what we read.

If you could read minds for a day, would you?

Since I will be hosting a Sookie Stackhouse discussion for Dead Until Dark tomorrow with Book & Movie Reviews with Deanna, I thought this was a perfect lead-in question.  My answer is HELL TO THE NO!  I would be a severe basket case if I had to endure listening to other people’s thoughts all day.  Of course, this is assuming that the question means I don’t have a choice on what I could listen in on.  Even if it means I did have a choice I still wouldn’t want the ability.  I think thoughts are private and should stay that way.  Lord knows I’ve had times where someone upset me or pissed me off and I’ve had a brief moment of really mean dialogue running through my head about them.  I know that’s kind of horrible but, I’m working on it.  Anyway, I’d hate for that person to listen in to that type of inner monologue when it’s not how I feel about them 99% of the time.

How about you guys?  If given the ability, would you read minds for a day?

Nope, no mind reading for me. I'm sure there's lots of stuff I just don't want to hear about! (Poor Sookie--she has no choice.)

As far as I'm concerned Sookie can keep all that because I definitely want no part in it! And I don't want people peeking in my mind either. Some things are just meant to be private.

My daughter says she'd want to but that might be because she is 8 years old. My son and Flyboy both had a very decisive NO.

If I could turn the mind reading on and off then I'm all for it, I just don't think I could go shoping at Walmart with it on. Yikes!

Gawd, I don't even want to hear what people think when they're talking! I keep trying to do that Gary Larson "blah blah blah, Ginger" thing, but haven't mastered it yet.
